From humble beginnings to an award-winning company, at Seymour Taylor our clients have always been an essential part of our own journey to success.
In the beginning

Our practice was founded in Frogmoor, High Wycombe by Ernest John Seymour, who decided to set up his own accountancy practice in 1917 after being injured on the Western Front in World War 1. In the late 1930s Ernest Seymour entered into a partnership with Sidney T Taylor, forming the company Seymour Taylor. The practice continued to expand, and in 1968 the company purchased 57 London Road in High Wycombe, which remained our office until December 2023.
A continuing success story…

Seymour Taylor’s growth and development has continued consistently. Since 1993 we have been a member of MGI Worldwide, a Top 20 International accounting network of independent audit, tax and accounting firms, bringing together the expertise of some 5,200 professionals in more than 260 locations around the world. In 2013 we merged with Colston Bush, a practice formerly based in Marlow, and in 2017 celebrated our Centenary. 100 years is a fantastic achievement but we believe the next chapter of our journey is going to be even more exciting!

From the very beginning employee development has been at the heart of what we do, and is key to Seymour Taylor’s continued success. We have impressive staff retention and long service within our business. In 2017 we were named Apprentice and Young Person’s Employer of the Year at the Buckinghamshire Business Awards in recognition of our commitment to this area. Staff retention and recognition continues to be key focus for our business.
Today

Seymour Taylor has seven Client Directors and an overall team of over 50. Proud to be a part of the community in which we operate, we work alongside local businesses, networking groups, charities, schools and the Buckinghamshire New University. We believe that our success is based on the on-going development of our services for our clients, ensuring that we offer them the most relevant and up-to-date packages whilst adhering to Our Values of Expertise, Support and Understanding.

In 2023, we had a revamp! Our website, logo and branding were changed to reflect a modern look and provide a more streamlined experience for our clients. We also moved our team into a new and improved office space, located at First Floor North, 40 Oxford Road, High Wycombe, HP11 2EE. Now, we are just a stone’s throw away from the centre of High Wycombe and easily accessible to anyone who wants to visit our team.
