Describe what you do at Seymour Taylor
I joined Seymour Taylor as a qualified audit senior in April 1999 after completing my training at a top 50 Accounting Practice and became a Director in 2012. As Head of the Audit and Accounts team I am actively involved in their recruitment, training and development. As technical lead I have an active interest in our ever changing industry and our team strive to lead the way forward to the benefit of our client experience. I am a fellow of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants and a member of the ICAEW.
I have a wealth of experience with owner managed businesses. My skill is being able to streamline the compliance work for my clients so that I can focus on the real needs of the owner manager. I specialise in audits and using my business support experience to provide the right advice to companies.
I have supported several clients through the process of selling their businesses over recent years, from assisting in preparing a company for sale, through the due diligence process, ensuring the understanding of the financial offer and tax efficiencies of the deal.
I am a Charity and Education sector specialist, which means I work with a number of local charities and not for profit organisations from educational establishments to charities supporting sufferers of specific medical conditions, supporting them with decision making as well as having the technical knowledge to advise on their tax and statutory requirements.
My passions in life are;
Sunshine holidays with my family. I also enjoy dining out with friends, cooking and entertaining.
“Liz Horton has been excellent and we have worked with her and the team at Seymour Taylor for the past 5 years.
She has always kept us up to date with developments as our accounts have been drawn up and her team ensures we do the right things at the right times. She has explained how the process works giving timely advice and the implications for the business, which has been invaluable in the decision making process.
As a social enterprise this means we can maximise the social and environmental impact we make from a financially sound platform”.
